Matthew McKay, CFP^®

Matt revels in the problem solving and creativity that is required to achieve a sound financial plan, specifically the investment planning that is involved. Serving as a Portfolio Manager, his responsibilities include the oversight of client portfolios, managing our investment operations team, research and due diligence of new investment opportunities and the communication of Briaud’s investment strategy.

Originally from North Carolina, Matt joined Briaud in early 2017 after working in banking and higher education, respectively. A graduate of The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Matt has also obtained a graduate certificate in Financial Planning from North Carolina State University and is privileged to hold the title of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™. Matt has been quoted in many financial publications including CNBC, MarketWatch, The Wall Street Journal, and MONEY, among others.

Outside of work, Matt enjoys playing basketball, soccer and golf, reading, and traveling with his family to new destinations.
