New Client Process
After reviewing the types of services we offer and our fee structure, you may feel we could be of service to you. If so, please feel free contact us whenever you are ready to take that step.
Initial Meeting:
The initial meeting is a chance for us to get acquainted. You can ask any questions you have about our services, financial planning process and investment philosophy. It also allows us to assess your needs and expectations and how we can be of service. Ultimately, it is a relaxed setting in which we can jointly understand whether the relationship will be a good fit. There is no obligation for you to become a client should you come in for an initial meeting.
Goal Setting:
We take a unique approach to goal setting that we believe sets us apart from all other financial advisors. We understand how our clients' pasts often influence their ambitions for the future, and as a result, before we discuss the traditional planning goals of retirement, estate, education funding, and charitable giving with you, we go backwards in time to understand how your relationships with money have grown and evolved. This "money autobiography" ultimately guides us as we help you prioritize and implement your planning goals.
Financial Plan Development and Presentation:
The financial plan is in essence a roadmap for your financial life. The plan details out where you are, where you want to go, the means to get there, and any risks or constraints that may stand in your way. All personalized planning and investments are covered in the plan.
Implementation:
The financial planning team consisting of you, the client service associate and the financial advisor will work as needed with your accountant, attorney and other professionals to implement recommendations and changes over a period of time. There will normally be frequent interaction during the first year while the majority of changes are being made.
Quarterly Review:
At least quarterly, your advisor will review your investment performance, follow up on any action items from the financial plan recommendations, and see if you have any changes in your circumstances. The investment review includes an evaluation of your portfolio performance, recommendations for any changes needed and consideration of any new investment opportunities available. Depending on your situation, your advisor may or may not contact you at the time of this review, but you are always welcome to contact us.
